To Double or Not To Double
That is the Question

He was curious about the relative merits of two different strategies. It seems like answering these kinds of questions always leads me to an interesting discovery or two. This time was no exception.
The situation was fairly simple, with only two players remaining in a one-advance round. Betting limits are $5 to $100 in $5 increments.

Player A must have at least a "half-swing" result over Player B, meaning that he must win while player B pushes or loses, or at least push while Player B loses.
The question is: Should Player A double here, or just hit out to a total of at least 19?
