For this month's topic, I want to delve deep into some strategy analysis. To start, I will completely analyze a two-player scenario, and then I will show how the optimal strategies are affected by the presence of a third player threat. As the title suggests, we don't have to go far before serious complications ensue. Allow me to set up the final hand situation in a one-advance round.
Dealer Ten up. Third-place Player C's round is over already, since a possible $180 bankroll is still guaranteed to keep him in third place. Player B's lead over Player A may be a small $5, but it makes him a big favorite here. With optimal play, he will advance 77.74% of the time. (All numbers are based on infinite-deck calculations.)
