A WORD FROM HENRY

Dan Pronovost concludes his analysis of Loss-Discounts and explains how this strategy can give high-stakes blackjack players the advantage. Stu D. Hoss reports on blackjack playing conditions at three Boyd properties in Downtown Las Vegas: California, Fremont, and Main Street Station plus the Golden Gate and El Cortez casinos. Meanwhile, K. C. Brooks visited three casinos on the south end of the Strip (Silverton, South Point, and M) and reports on the playing conditions there, and Riverboat Flyer reports on the conditions in several Tunica casinos. Even gotten sick on a trip to Vegas? Read what happened to Ralph Stricker on one of his trips there with his "big player" M.R. If you've been disgusted when you lose hand after hand playing perfect strategy while the ploppie next to you wins every hand, you've got to read Basil Nestor's article for some inspiration. Frank Scoblete has a two part report on Atlantic City. The first covers a trip that he and several Golden Touch dice controllers undertook; namely, they visited and played craps in every casino in Atlantic City. The second part of Frank's report is an update on blackjack playing conditons in A.C. I can take no credit for Vinny DeCarlo's "experiment" in which, after my reading my book Craps: Take the Money and Run, he... well I'll let you read what that maverick did. John Grochwoski answers three good questions from players, one dealing with the hold statistic in blackjack, another on the "Five Count" in craps, and a third dealing with payout changes in Three Card Poker. Frank Kneeland discusses the risk and rewards of playing progressive video poker machines and shows you how to determine the value of a game. Last, but not least, we have a summary of upcoming major blackjack tournaments.

On October 21 in Las Vegas, I will be presenting two seminars at the one-day Golden Touch Advantage-Play Friday event. My first seminar will cover how to get the advantage in blackjack, and the second on how to get the edge in video poker. If you want to gain the advantage over the casino at either game, consider attending this great event. Classes are filling up. For details, click here.

"As the calendar turned to July, with the 4th of July holiday weekend staring me in the face, I realized I could stay home all weekend and watch the four walls of my house slowly close in or I could do what any patriotic, degenerate gambler would do that owed readers a Part II to the downtown experience.
