A WORD FROM HENRY

I will be teaching a Golden Touch Blackjack class featuring Speed Count on Friday, Sept. 18th in Las Vegas. Speed Count is the easiest method that recreational blackjack players can use to get the edge over the casinos at blackjack. BJI subscribers receive a $100 discount off the tuition for the class if they register by July 10th and they receive a copy of the Golden Touch Blackjack Revolution book (featuring Speed), a CD that you can pop in your Windows computer to practice the Speed Count and the Optimum Basic Playing strategy, and the Golden Touch Blackjack DVD ($154 total value). You can go to www.goldentouchblackjack.com for more details on the class; however, to receive the $100 discount you must call me to register by July 10th at 1-888-354-3234.

This month we have several blackjack conditions and trip reports containing tips on where you'll find some good blackjack games. They include the Las Vegas reports encompassing the Hard Rock and Silver Sevens casinos (by KC Brooks), and Arizona Charlie's (on Decatur) and Red Rock casinos (by Stu D. Hoss). In addition, be sure to read JPBs Kansas City Trip Report for tips on where to find some great double-deck games in that area. Everybody hopes to get lucky when they gamble and enjoy winning streaks and we have two articles that address these points: Paul Wilson's personal account of his recent winning streak and Eliot Jacobson's analysis of "luck". (These are two great articles ... don't miss reading them). Mark Gruetze talks about how blackjack is steadily losing ground in casinos as gamblers turn to 'specialty' games, which are not best for players. If you let someone else use your player's card or you use someone else's player's card when you gamble, you definitely need to read the article by attorney Robert Loeb on the risks of doing so (you won't find this information anywhere else). Jerry Stickman (and I) have the same beliefs when it comes to using video poker training software; namely, you should use the software to check your playing accuracy and ultimately improve it. Read what Jerry has to say about this important topic in his article on the Value of Practice. John Grochowski answers several interesting questions dealing with Class II and III video poker and slot machines (you should know the differences); taxes on a big win at electronic roulette; and blackjack games that pay even money (no kidding). Last, but not least, we have a roundup of upcoming blackjack tournaments (some very good) courtesy of blackjacktournaments.com.

Enjoy the issue!
