This month we have several trip reports that include the Plaza and Golden Gate casinos (Las Vegas, by Stu D. Hoss); Palms and Rio casinos (Las Vegas, by KC Brooks); Casino Queen, Hollywood, and Lumiere casinos (St. Louis area, by JPB); and Twin River casino (Rhode Island, by Joe Freda). These reports contain tips on where to find very good blackjack games (great double deck and good six-deck game in downtown Las Vegas and St. Louis area), and also blackjack games not worth your time. Unfortunately, Joe Freda got the dreaded tap on the shoulder at a casino in Rhode island; read his report on the details of what happened. The new blackjack game called "Free Bet Blackjack" is beginning to be offered in casinos across the country. Get the details on this new game in my article in this issue. Mark Gruetze wrote an interesting article on how one casino addressed the issue of a tougher no-smoking regulation (interesting what they did). Paul Wilson offers football handicapping tips in his excellent article ... don't miss reading it if you like to bet on football games (college or pros). On the video poker front, Jerry "Stickman" summarizes the odds of getting monster hands (i.e., high paying) in Jacks or Better, Double Double Bonus, and others). John Grochowski answers reader's questions on why bother learning basic strategy for blackjack when games are getting worse (excellent response); what you should do after your video poker machine hits a big jackpot; and the reason slot machines are proliferating everywhere. Lastly, we have list of upcoming blackjack tournaments courtesy of www.blackjacktournaments.com.
