This month our newsletter begins with two Las Vegas Blackjack Reports: the first covers the elegant Wynn and Encore casinos located on the Strip (by KC Brooks), and the second on the Suncoast and Rampart casinos located on the west side of town (by Stu D. Hoss). I attended this year's Blackjack Ball and provide the details on what went down at this gala for blackjack professionals, including the entire 21-question test given to the attendees (try answering the questions; hint, there are not easy). If you want a primer on the math of blackjack, take a gander at Nicholas Colon's article. Eliot Jacobson wrote a fascinating article on how the pros hole-card shoe games (that's right shoe-games, not hand-dealt games; you won't believe how they do it). Paul Wilson, meanwhile, offers a glimpse (he calls it "confessions") into how he became a blue-collar card counter. A BJI subscriber prompted our next article on deviating from basic strategy excerpted from my new Ultimate Guide to Blackjack. If you play multi-line video poker games (or plan to do so), be sure to read Jerry "Stickman's" article on bankroll requirements (you'll be surprised at how much you need to play multi-lines games). John Grochowski answers several interesting questions from readers dealing with casinos rigging video blackjack machines (yes or no?); an unbelievable streak by a blackjack player; and the differences between 8/5 Bonus Poker and 8/5 ACES Bonus Poker (something I didn't even know).
