One of the reasons I had not visited Reno before is that I generally do not like to play single-deck blackjack games. On my first visits to Reno, I enjoyed playing blackjack and was able to find good places to play. On my most recent visit in late October, I remembered why I do not like singe-deck games, and by association, why Reno is not one of my prime blackjack destinations: it is just too easy to be detected counting cards in a single-deck game. Overview There are over a dozen casinos in the Reno area that offer blackjack, and it has historically been known for its single-deck blackjack games. I assume that retaining the single-deck games was a competitive decision to cater to the single-deck market that Vegas was getting away from. One nice feature about Reno is that the casino cashiers are willing to cash chips from neighboring casinos. Overall, cashing out chips in Reno is very quick and efficient. For anyone that has been stuck waiting 5+ minutes in long lines to cash chips in Vegas, or other casinos around the country, this is a strong point about Reno.
