Blackjack Insider Newsletter, June 2003, #41LV PRO’s TRIP REPORT – Part 2 LV Pro is a serious recreational player who started with basic strategy in 1996 and learned the Silver Fox count by the end of 1998. He has been counting since early 1999, starting with a $2K bankroll and slowly trying to build it to $10K. His trip reports to Las Vegas appear regularly in the Blackjack Insider newsletter. For part 1 of this trip report go to www.bjinsider.com/newsletter_40_vegas.shtml After a $175 win in my last morning session at Casino Royale (CR), I checked out, had a comped Denny’s breakfast of bacon, eggs and a strawberry waffle, and checked in to Terrible’s. I then spent most of the day with my buddy Stu. We went four-wheeling in the desert in a desolate area south of Henderson. We had dinner, watched a Steven Seagal DVD movie on his new 55 inch big screen and after a brief nap, I headed over to Fiesta Henderson. There was only one uncrowded double deck table – a $25 minimum game with two green betting gals. I pulled out the lone "Your first blackjack pays 3-1 up to $25" coupon out of the new 2003 Las Vegas Advisor booklet. The contents of the current Pocketbook of Values booklet are very disappointing when compared with last year’s version. I guess that was to be expected after the reports of widespread abuse and counterfeiting of the 2002 LVA gambling coupons. Still I sorely missed those 2002 booklets which had seven 3-1 coupons and higher limit matchplays plus the Golden Gate "blackjacks pay 2-1 up to $25 for an hour" coupon, which is still included in the 2003 POV but the betting limit has been reduced from $25 to $10. Makes it hardly worth playing now. ...enter your member login information below to read this article/newsletter...
