More on Playing Double Deck Blackjackby The GameMaster Every month, I'll be posting an article which will, I hope, make you a better Blackjack player. Naturally, the question follows: Just who am I to say I can make you a better player? My background in Blackjack began in Atlantic City in 1978 where I learned, by attending a four-session school, how to count cards. That led to considerable involvement with Blackjack teams and travel to a lot of places to take the casinos' money. After the liberal rules in Atlantic City were dumped by the casinos, my Blackjack-playing days went dormant for some time. I'd do the occasional trip to Reno or Las Vegas, but it wasn't until casino gaming came to Missouri in 1994 that I got back into Blackjack with both feet. Now I live close to 4 casinos, can play as much as I want and can tell you - with first-hand experience - how to win at Blackjack. My Website is www.gamemasteronline.com
Several years ago, one of my readers contracted me to develop a plan of action for him to become a professional Blackjack player. He was in his late fifties and had been offered early retirement from his job as a senior-level executive for a major oil company in the form of a multi-million dollar "golden parachute" which basically meant that income security was no longer a concern for him. But what to do with all of his newly-found time was a concern; statistics appear to show that early retirement in these situations can actually be hazardous to one’s health! Be that as it may, most of us "Baby Boomers" find the thought of just lying around waiting to die just as inconceivable as continuing to work at our jobs forever. We like our freedom and view it as an opportunity to try something new; perhaps something entirely different than what we did before. That was the case with "Mr. X", who had played Blackjack as a recreational activity for years. Of course, this meant he was a long-time loser at the game but he had heard enough about card counting to believe it works and, more importantly, believed he could master the science. As I mentioned, Mr. X contracted me to do this. He paid for my time, but you’ll get what he got at no cost, except I’m not going to tell you the location of the double deck (DD) Blackjack games I recommended he play. On that topic, I’ll address generalities and leave it for you to find the good games out there. And believe me, they are out there. My client lives in Texas, so draw whatever conclusions you wish from that. Naturally, Mr. X had to learn card counting, which he did in very little time – the Hi/Lo count that I teach was the method chosen, of course - but what I’m going to write about here will apply to almost any good, legitimate method of counting. We began the planning process by selecting a target amount of... ...enter your member login information below to read this article/newsletter...
