This report on blackjack playing conditions is based on my one-time visit to Laughlin plus feedback I received from several advantage players who sometimes play in Laughlin (but mostly Vegas and Reno) and wish to remain anonymous. Rather than review every casino, I've instead focused on the kinds of blackjack games you will be find in Laughlin. Location The city of Laughlin is located in the desert along the Colorado River near the southern tip of the Arizona-Nevada border (it's directly across from Bullhead City, AZ). Laughlin is about 100 miles south of Las Vegas and the drive from Vegas to Laughlin is easy – just head south on US 93/95 toward Boulder City, and then follow the signs to Laughlin. Clientele Laughlin tends to attract a blue-color crowd with inexpensive gambling, cheap eats, and very cheap rooms. It's easy to find $5 minimum blackjack tables at all casinos (as well as some $2 and $3 minimum games in some casinos). It's also easy to get comped rooms with very little play and all the food you care to eat for not a whole lot of money (to give you an idea, breakfast at the Riverside was less than two bucks for eggs, ham/sausage, potato and juice – for lunch or dinner they offered a humungus Angus burger with fries for less than five bucks). Blackjack Playing Rules The one thing I noticed on my visit there is the lack of das. Casinos there don't offer this favorable rule to players (except one casino – keep reading for details).
