Readers Q&A #25

Dear BJInsider.com Expert Guide,

The following question was asked by

---------------------------------
Should I continuing playing at Prestige Casino?
I have played many hands at the BJ tables, but never have i felt the dealers love this way: after serverals looses i decided to play on three spots. I placed my bet 25 on each. I had 3 x 20 and dealer showed 3. So I thought it was time for a big win...but no! Dealer hit 21 in 3 cards and i lost 75 dollars. What is the odds for that? Should I find another casino in the future? Best regards Jan.

Dear Jan,

There is enough variability in the game of blackjack that you should expect such losses in the short term when you play blackjack. I’ve lost a lot more in my playing career in a single session to some wild hands (like last month a dealer in LV drew two blackjacks and two 21’s in 4 consecutive hands). You are never "due for a big win" after you’ve lost a few hands. That’s a gambler’s fallacy. If you are concerned about the integrity of the web site check them out at www.gamemasteronline.com or www.wizardofodds.com.

Dear BJInsider.com Expert Guide,

The following question was asked by

---------------------------------
what are the best places to play blackjack in lasvegas

Best regards,
The "Ask the Pro" Staff

Dear Carl,

Assuming you are a basic strategy player, you want to have the lowest house edge (< 0.3%) in a casino that offers $5 -$10 minimum bet tables, and you don’t want to play against a continuous shuffling machine, here are the best places to play blackjack in Las Vegas (be certain you play only the umber of decks listed for each casino).

Aladdin (8 decks), Bellagio (6 deck), Caesars palace (6 and 8 decks), El Cortez (single deck), Four Queens (single deck), Frontier (double deck), Horseshoe (single deck), Luxor (6 deck), Mandalay Bay (6 deck), MGM Grand ( 6 deck), Mirage (6 deck), New York- New York (6 deck), Regent ( 6 deck), Rio (6 deck), Samds Town ( singled eck), Silverton (single deck), Stardust (double deck), Texas Station (doubled eck), Treasure Island (6 deck), and Venetian (6 deck).

Regards,

Henry

Dear BJInsider.com Expert Guide,

The following question was asked by

---------------------------------
Dear Chris,
What is the house advantage on Blackjack with 6 decks . European rules with a variation on doubling on any 2 cards?
John

Best regards,
The "Ask the Pro" Staff

<>

Dear Chris,

The casino’s edge is 0.65%. You give up 0.54% for 6 decks and 0.11% for European no-hole card rule. There is not penalty for being able to double on any two cards.

Dear Kjonforty,
