Dear BJInsider.com Expert Guide, <> Dear Francis, I suggest you read Andy Glazer’s excellent primer on Blackjack Tournaments in issue number 7 of Blackjack Insider Newsletter at www.BJInsider.com/newsletter.shtml.
Regards, Henry Tamburin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear BJInsider.com Expert Guide, <> Dear Sam, Not to my knowledge. But I only play in casinos that are regulated. Regards, Henry Tamburin --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following question was asked by --------------------------------- Dear Henry, I've been studying the card couont scheme introduced in the book by Canfield: "Blackjack your way to riches". Basically it's a hi-lo balanced count, but it gives not only the 8, but also the ace and the two a neutral value. I liked the book and have been practising on the computer & palm with some success against single deck games. However, I can't see it (or the book) mentioned anywhere. Is this system no good? Thanks, Maarten --------------------------------- Best regards, The "Ask the Pro" Staff <> Dear Maarten, The Canfield Count has a betting efficiency of 0.87 and a playing efficiency of 0.63 (according to John May in his book, Get The Edge at Blackjack). By not including the ace in the count, Canfield’s counting system has a higher playing efficiency then High Low or KO Count but at the expense of a lower betting efficiency. The KO count, which is a much easier to learn and use unbalanced counting system, has a betting efficiency of 0.98. The High Low has a 0.97. I’d recommend either of these over the Canfield count. Regards, Henry Tamburin
