A WORD FROM HENRY

Our Legends of Blackjack book is now available for Kindle (you can download the book directly to a Kindle reader or use the free Kindle app and download to your iPhone or iPad). This book, written by blackjack pros Kevin Blackwood and Larry Barker, is a great read. It is unlike any other blackjack book because it contains the true stories of the ingenious pioneers who unraveled the secrets to winning at blackjack, and the legendary blackjack players and teams who used this information to win millions of dollars in casinos throughout the world. Now it's available at the new lower price of only $9.99. Click here for more details about the book and/or to order in Kindle format and PDF.

I am looking for a blackjack player that would be interested in reporting on the blackjack playing conditions in the Las Vegas area casinos on a regular basis. If you are interested, please email me at HTamburin@aol.com.

Mark Gruetze visited Tunica and reports on the playing conditions (this was before all the Tunica casinos shut down because of the threat of flooding). Frank Scoblete and his team of reporters report on some changes in the blackjack playing conditions in Atlantic City, and Frank writes about the change-over of Trump Plaza to the Golden Nugget casino. JPB has put together quite a challenging quiz for card counters... try it and see how you do. Basil Nestor brings up some important points in his article about the pros and cons of playing blackjack like a human rather than like a machine. Vinny DeCarlo completes his series on the ten stupidest casino thefts with stories 6 through 10 (these heists are unbelievable). Ralph Stricker continues his story about one of his big players (M.T.), this time about a playing session they had in Atlantic City. Get answers to several interesting questions posed by blackjack players in John Grochowski's article, including the reasons why the house edge is lower in a single-deck game compared to a six-deck game. We have an excerpt from Bill Zender's new book Casino-ology 2 covering side bets in blackjack, and it's a good read. Frank Kneeland plans to share his playing strategy for video poker progressive machines beginning with his article on team nomenclature. Bill Burton takes a break from his Poker A-Z series to write about the recent FBI and Department of Justice seizure of the popular online web sites Poker Stars, Full Tilt Poker, and Absolute Poker (and the charges filed against the owners of these sites). Last, but not least, we have the upcoming schedule of blackjack tournaments courtesy of www.blackjacktournaments.com. (I will be playing in the IP, Biloxi tournament in May, and so will BJI contributing writer Kenneth Smith).

The report on the blackjack playing conditions at the new Cosmopolitan casino in Las Vegas (by Joe Pane) will appear in the June issue of BJI.

So They've Pegged You as a Counter ... Now What?, by "The Suit"

Beginning with this issue of the BJI, we are going to publish a great "insider" article that appeared in a previous issue of the BJI. This month, we spotlight the article "So They've Pegged You as a Counter ... Now What?", written by a former Floor Supervisor and Pit Manager, whose been around the block many times when it comes to spotting card counters and taking action. In this article, you'll learn the specific actions that the pit will take if they suspect a counter and what actions a counter should take.

Enjoy the issue.
